Hi, I’m Laura Foster-Palmer (just call me Roura)! I’m an American Voice Over Artist breaking into the voice acting industry! Believe it or not I haven’t always been a voice actor (unbelievable, right)!
I used to work with children as a music instructor/ woodwind coach and would often read stories to them. The more I did it, the more reading to kids became fun and exciting for me, and I started to add a bit more character to the books. That’s when the voice acting bug hit me!
I’ve always been shy, so I had to coax myself to purchase my first voice acting course. Then I had to coax myself to take my first client, but after raving reviews I realized that this was something I could do. The rest is history!
When I’m not practicing my diction and phrasing, I indulge in my appreciation of music by playing my flute, Tohru Honda. Yes, my flute has a name. You would too if you played the flute for more than 15 years!
That’s enough about me. I want to know more about you! If you’ve listened to my samples and you like what you hear, contact me. I’ll be more than happy to bring your projects to life!
The name Roura came about during my time in college. I took Mandarin Chinese 1 and was asked to find out how to write our names in the Chinese characters 劳拉 (Láo lā). Me being an anime fan decided to check out my name in Japanese ローラ (Rōra). These findings stuck with me, so I decided to take the R and O and put it in my name to make it Roura.
